In the recent year, the challenges before the educational institutes are manifold. It will have to cope with fast changes in technology simultaneously, training more students with adequate information’s with less availability of financial support for expansion and excellence. To meet these challenges, the college introduced a 4 year B.Tech., Course in Information Technology in the year 2001 with an intake of 30 students. The department has grown in strength over the years in terms of Infrastructure facilities, Technical expertise, Faculty Strength, Modern Teaching Aids, Browsing facilities. The department has qualified and experienced faculty members and technically competent supporting staff on its rolls who can provide consultancy in the following areas such as Programming languages and Paradigms, Data Mining, Image Processing, Advanced architecture, Cryptography, Software performance Engineering, Wireless LAN and Compiler Design.

This course also develops the knowledge and skills in the area of Data structures, Object Oriented Programming languages, Relational Database Management Systems, Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence, etc., This branch of engineering produces engineers who can serve in the industries like software development, Automobile Industries, Bio – Medical Companies, Electrical & Electronics Companies, Pharmaceutical Companies and Research / Teaching. Companies such as Infosys, TCS, CTS, Wipro, and Satyam Comp, IBM, Honeywell, I-flex, Intel, Yahoo, Oracle, Sify, National Instruments, and Motorola have receipted our students.


Information Technology (IT) can be used potentially in every sector of the economy. The IT sector has great scope for people as it provides employment to technical and non-technical graduates and has the capability to generate huge foreign exchange inflow for India. Since all the engineering sectors need the basics of IT and so the IT students have a best future to settle down in any of the engineering sector.

IT will continue to gain momentum. The immense expansion in networking technologies is expected to continue into the next decade also. IT will bring about an improvement in the quality of life as it impacts on global competitiveness. Technologies that are emerging are Data Warehousing and Data Mining. They involve collecting data in normal research. Software services that are being used will go a long way.
